Architectural design and production processes of ceramic building envelopes

The Advanced Ceramics R&D Lab is an emerging laboratory, based in the Design Institute of Guimarães, which aims to explore the integration of digital additive manufacturing techniques in the architectural design and production processes of ceramic elements for building envelopes. 

A Ceramics Platform has been created to enhance the synergies among R&D entities and the industry, facilitating a dynamic and effective networking and gathering the conditions to foster innovative solutions. 

The Laboratory of Construction and Technology integrates the Ceramics Platform contributing to the characterization of the multi-functional performance of ceramic building systems.
